The Best Coverage Within China - Bar None
The key benefit of working with China Telecom Americas for delivery services into China is that we can provide connections and local loops direct to the end customer site in any location in China through our parent company, China Telecom Corporation (China Telecom), and manage them from order to installation and provide ongoing maintenance, through one point of contact here in the Americas.
CT Americas is uniquely positioned to serve and support our customers. China Telecom is among the world's largest telecommunications providers and has the largest fixed subscriber base in Asia. China Telecom provides services throughout China, including those areas with the heaviest concentration of services and industrial operations sought after by corporations in the Americas.
Transport Network
China Telecom owns an omni-directional, large-capacity, multi-function, high-speed, secure and reliable telecom network, in this stereotype network, the fiber optic cable is the primary element, satellite and digital microwave links are the supplementary elements. The total length of the nationwide fiber optic cable is 1,290,000 km. The nationwide digital trunk microwave communications network has a link length of 31,551 km. With greatly enhanced transport capacity of the satellite communications network, China Telecom has opened services with a number of countries and regions through the network.
Switching Network
China's nationwide public switched telecom network (PSTN) that has been built by China Telecom is rapidly developing towards digitization, integration and personalization and has become one of the world's most advanced networks and largest network as well. China Telecom's total local telephone switching capacity reached 286,000,000 lines, and the long-distance automatic switching capacity totaled 5,840,000 circuit ends. China Telecom has established direct circuits with 63 telecom carriers in 36 countries and regions.
While the fixed-line telephone network was experiencing rapid development, the intelligent network has also been rapidly developed. This intelligent network covers the entire country and services such as the 300 Calling Card, 800 Free Phone and 600 Virtual Private Line are available nationwide. Meanwhile, most of the provincial corporations and branches have built up their inner-provincial intelligent networks and have been providing highly-intelligent services -- Mass Calling and Regional Local Telephone Service, etc. Additionally, China Telecom has built up the SS7 signaling network, digital synchronous network and telecom management network (TMN), which covers the entire country and has been strongly supporting the normal operation of diversified telecom services.
Data and Internet Network
China Telecom has always considered the data and Internet network as one of its more important focus and has invested billions of dollars in its construction. Thus, China Telecom has now developed a unified public data communications network platform with multi-functions, multi-layers, high efficiency and technological advancement as well as the coverage for all of China. The platform includes the China public data network (CHINADDN), China public packet switched data network (CHINAPAC), China's broadband Internet network (CHINANET), China public broadband frame relay service network (CHINAFRN) and China Telecom's IP phone network.
China Telecom is one of only a handful of elite carriers who have built entirely new IP networks in order to satisfy the complexities of globally distributed, Internet-based, mission-critical applications. CHINANET, our primary IP network, provides the global coverage, network technology infrastructure and management capabilities required for MNCs to successfully leverage China in their growth strategy. Both are advanced communication and information networks for the future.
In addition to CHINANET, China Telecom has made a multi-billion dollar investment in an entirely new network, CN2. CN2 is a completely new Ipv6-capable backbone network that leverages new softswitches and protocols, which boosts performance and reliability. The MPLS-optimized architecture also enables Frame Relay and ATM traffic to be transported over a Layer 2 VPN, ensuring support for both legacy traffic and new IP services over a single IP/MPLS network.
While it leverages the assets that already exist on CHINANET, CN2 offers a business class alternative that enables applications and communications services in Asia and beyond to perform at unprecedented levels.
