Global Network

China Telecom Americas delivers a comprehensive range of high quality telecommunications services to customers around the world, at competitive prices and with a service guarantee supported by industry-leading SLAs. No other North American or Chinese telecom carrier offers a comparable combination of seamless network coverage, services, and capacity in connecting the Americas, China and Asia.

We are able to consistently exceed industry standards by leveraging the strength of our own diverse cable systems. This allows us to offer the most global network capacity of any carrier doing business between China and the Americas.

The largest Internet network in China, our ChinaNet fiber optic transmissions infrastructure provides DSL, fiber-Ethernet access, and Wireless LAN connectivity throughout China, with overseas access now delivered to North America via undersea cable.

  • More than 300 access nodes, with millions of miles of fiber optic cable extending into all major Chinese cities and high bandwidth locations
  • Fully meshed and redundant with high levels of performance and flexible access
  • Multiple access options (IP, private line, ATM and Frame Relay).
  • Multiple access speeds (DS-1, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48, all Ethernet & Gigabyte Ethernet)
  • Private and public peering, with global peering via partnerships with over 100 carriers.
  • Interconnection bandwidth reaching 160Gbps with other Chinese carriers
  • 99.9% SLA-backed service availability, with less than 3% packet loss and round trip latency of less than 180ms between the U.S. and China
  • Multiple 24x7 Network Operations Centers (NOCs), offering bilingual service in both China and the US.
  • China Telecom owns 70% of all Chinese Internet resources, and maintains an over-50% share of the Chinese broadband subscriber market.

Designed from the ground up as the next generation, IPv6-cable Internet backbone successor to our ChinaNet network, CN2 is an advanced MPLS-optimized infrastructure that leverages new softswitches and protocols to ensure not only high performance, but also support for legacy traffic (such as Frame Relay and ATM) and new IP services over a single IP/MPLS network.

Integrated with our existing ChinaNet network, CN2 offers a business class alternative for enterprises seeking a high performance telecommunications connection with China at competitive rates.  Today, CN2 reaches more subscribers in Asia than any other operating network, as well as provides direct connections to all major global ISPs via state of the art fiber optic data delivery.

  • Completely new IPv6-capable backbone, based on Cisco and Juniper technology and utilizing new softswitches, DiffServ and MPLS
  • MPLS-optimized architecture that enables Frame Relay and ATM traffic transport over a Layer 2 VPN, ensuring support for both legacy traffic and new IP services over a single IP/MPLS network
  • Converged services offering communications from anywhere to any device (combined voice, data and video services)
  • Multiple service options (MLPS / IP VPN, DIA, NGN Trunk, 3G Trunk, private leased line, etc.)
  • Multiple access speeds (T1/E1, DS3, OC-3, FE, and GigE in North America).
  • High-speed transit with ultra-low latency (from Asia to America
  • Coverage including 19 nodes in major overseas cities, Dual-POPs in 161 cities and Dual-PEs installed in 148 Single-POP cities
  • Network security ensured with AS-SET updates, DNS registry and anti-DDoS services
  • SLA-backed Quality of Service (QoS) and five Classes of Service (CoS) enable prioritization of traffic for maximum performance and virtual routing
  • Multiple 24x7 Network Operations Centers (NOCs), offering bilingual service in both China and the US

Trans-Pacific Express Cable (TPE)

TPE is the first next-generation, multi-terabit level undersea optical cable system directly linking the United States and East Asia (Mainland China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan), delivering the highest lit capacity (up to 1.28Tb/s) and designed capacity (5.12Tb/s) available on the trans-Pacific route. Coupled with China Telecom's other terrestrial and submarine cables, we are able to provide direct, reliable transit service between Asia and the Americas.

Key Features and Benefits of TPE:

  • Terabit level capacity and scalable bandwidth
  • High performance and availability guaranteed by SLAs
  • Seamless integration and extensive connectivity
  • Lowest Latency
  • One-stop shopping facilitating the ordering, provisioning, billing and management
  • Proactive network performance monitoring 24/7

Trans-Europe-Asia (TEA)

Business links between Europe and Asia grow in depth and volume every day – and, with it, the flow of data has growth from a river into a mighty flood. Our TEA cable infrastructure provides an efficient, reliable, and flexible rapid data transport network connecting all major cities in Europe and Asia, a solution based on state-of-the-art optic transmission and offering 99.9% guaranteed network uptime.

Key Features and Benefits of TEA:

  • Highly diverse and fully redundant terrestrial cable route, with unparalleled service reliability and availability
  • DWDM technology with huge terabit capacity
  • Scalable bandwidth from E1 to STM-16
  • Resilient systems design and network implementation against any single point of failure
  • Extensive coverage in all major cities in Asia and Europe
  • One-stop shopping facilitating the ordering, provisioning, billing and management
  • Proactive network performance monitoring 24/7

Another Gate to India (AGI)

Existing business links connecting India with the world rely largely on traditional submarine cable routes, such as SMW3/SMW4, FALCON, and i2i.  However, the 2005 Taiwan earthquake demonstrated the vulnerability of these cables and the need for stronger redundancy and service diversity.  This China-India cable system, the first large capacity, high quality terrestrial cable system connecting India internationally, was deployed to create the necessary diversity and redundancy for global enterprise data traffic in the modern economy.

Key Features and Benefits of AGI:

  • Fully redundant terrestrial cable route with unparalleled service reliability and availability
